One of the striking things about driving, and hiking, through the Badlands National Park is the various colors in the strata of the formations. Each color represents a geologic period of the park's evolution.
The eastern edge of the Badlands is prairie land. The prairie area is home to the prairie dog, and beautiful sunsets.
